New Ready to Read Phonics Plus books

The first 20 new Ready to Read Phonics Plus books are being sent free to all schools with learners in years 1–3.
These books have been designed to advance children’s ability to decode words and to gain meaning from text, and, along with support materials including a scope and sequence, will support teachers to use a structured approach to teaching reading.

Kahu Pūtoi is a collaborative online community for kaiako, tumuaki and kaiāwhina to create professional and curriculum peer-to-peer relationships with other kaiako and support each other to:
- develop stronger te reo Māori programmes
- share best practise and pedagogy
- and provide real-time support in locally relevant contexts across the schooling sector at all levels.
Te Whāriki update consultation

You are invited to help shape the update of the curriculum through a series of nationwide hui and by giving your feedback online.

Kua tuhia ngā kōwae ako ki tō te Māori titiro, he ako ā-kaupapa te āhuatanga, ka whakawhiti hoki i te maha o ngā wāhanga ako. Heoi anō, ahakoa e whakawhiti ana ngā ngohe nei i ngā wāhanga ako, kua kōwhiria kia ākina te reo ā-waha i roto i te akomanga – e rua, e rua ko te reo ōpaki me te reo ōkawa.
